Microsoft Mobile Emulator 2.0




This is the Beta version of Microsoft Device Emulator 2.0. The RTM version of this
emulator will be released with the upcoming Windows CE 6.0 release. This Emulator has the same executables and DLLs as the 1.0 emulator that came with Visual Studio 2005 RTM and has upgraded performance and some new features. This install does not replace the emulator installed with Visual Studio 2005. The installer that comes with this preview only copies the relevant binaries to the user's system.

Windows 2000, Windows XP SP2 or Windows 2003 Server SP1
Instructions
To install the emulator, run the MSI that is provided with this download. After installation is done, you must regsiter it in order to use this V 2.0 Emulator (for debugging and deploying applications), instead of the one that came with Visual Studio 2005. Run the register.bat file to do this. This step is provided for you to choose to replace the V1.0 emulator.
Note :
If you have installed and registered the V2.0 emulator and decide to uninstall it, then you have to re-register the V1.0 binaries in order to make it the default emulator. To do this, simply run the vs_emualtor.exe setup for V1.0 that came with your Visual Studio 2005 CD and repair your install. The installer will take care of the registration for you.
